Will I lose my new car warranty if Livesey’s Motor Works service it rather than the dealer I bought the car from?
No you will not lose your new car warranty. The New Consumer Laws by the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) Consumer Express publication, April 2005, Issue 1445-9671) allows mechanics to work on and service new cars that are under warranty as long as:
- The business is performed by qualified staff
- Genuine parts or High Quality parts are used
- The work is carried out to the manufacturer’s specifications.
LMW follow these guidelines in all their work.
Where a problem arises with the vehicle that is covered under the warranty, the vehicle should be taken to the dealer for repair. Those repairs should be done for free of charge under the warranty.
